Introduction

Please tell us about your current line of work and how you got started in it. Please include any awards or upcoming projects.

I've owned my own companies since 2003 and have contributed to multiple business industries including media production, corporate and wedding videography, graphic design, web design, voiceovers, and authoring.  As a voiceover artist, I am the voice of United Healthcare, for example, and have voiced for a number of other Fortune 500 companies including Amazon, Uber, Wrangler, Cadillac, Microsoft, Enterprise, Fidelity, and so many more.

I am the author of the bestselling "Dissonance" sci-fi alien invasion saga (one of which has been adapted to screen and is currently being pitched to major streaming networks!), the sci-fi thriller "Forecast", eight business reference books including "How to Successfully Self-Publish & Promote Your Self-Published Book" and "The Superhero Anomaly." As a voiceover artist, I enjoyed a base of 3000+ subscribers and penned 300 blogs. I also authored the six books I mentioned, and was a voiceover business coach. My current book "The Superhero Anomaly," subtitled, "A Comical look at Balancing Life & Business" is a testament to this.

In my lifetime I have been an author, voiceover artist, wedding videographer, stage performer, musician, producer, rock/pop artist, executive assistant, service manager, paperboy, CSR, poet, tech support, worship leader, and more.  The diversity of my life experiences gives me a unique approach to business, life, ministry, faith, and entertainment.

When I was in second grade, I was tasked with writing a creative assignment: a fictional book.  And thus, "The Electric Boy" was born: a simple novella full of intrigue, fantasy, and 7-year-old wits that electrified my desire to write.  From that point forward, I evolved into a creative soul that desired to create.

Do you have any mentors or sources of inspiration?

Yes, I deeply appreciate Tolkien, Aliens (Sigourney Weaver/James Cameron 1986 movie), Lord of the Rings, Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins, Alan Dean Foster, Marie Lu, and others.  I have a spiritual mentor: a wonderful 83-year-old man from my church. :-)

What parts of your work do you enjoy most? Why?

I LOVE writing.  I love being able to flesh out a narrative that I find compelling.  I love being in the thick of the action and feeling my blood pumping, my eyes wide, and my fingers burning up the keyboard, especially late at night in my kiddos' room after I've put them to bed and it's completely dark around me.  It's such a thrill - and a letdown - to write "THE END."  But that just means that the next phase is beginning, and we're in for an exciting ride. :-)  And I very much enjoy being awarded a good voiceover job that pays well.

What are your favorite things to do when you have free time?

I have an E-Bike, and the boys and I love to go for rides.  I can take both of them on it (they're 8 and 5).  I love a good movie at home on the big screen.  I enjoy reading, mostly sci-fi (what a shock!), and my wife and I go for great walks with our dog around our property.  There are 6 miles of horse riding trails interwoven throughout our development, so it's a great place to go for walks and eat blackberries.  Love swimming in our pool as well, although that season is now over. :-( I love going to church on Sundays.  I love attending the men's group that I lead on Tuesday mornings, and our church life group on Sunday afternoons at our home.  I love doing "FriYay" with our neighbors, who are our best friends, and they come over every Friday to eat and talk here, while our 2 kids play with their 2 kids.  Life is rich. :-)

Are there any dream projects you'd like to pursue?

The first volume in my series, "Dissonance Volume I: Reality" has been adapted for the screen and is being pitched to major streaming networks, so I'm super excited to see what comes of that, and I'm pinning all my hopes to it.  In our contract we'd stipulate that we get to serve as consultants, so I'd LOVE to be on set while this is developed.  I'm so excited!  And I'd love to just finally finish my "Forecast" project, but each time I try to go back to it I get sucked back into the "Dissonance" universe with another installment. :-)

How can we learn more about you?
