Meet Jose F Nodar

We’re honored to be speaking with esteemed author Jose F Nodar. His latest book is Stories to Share with My Partner-Book 5. Please tell us about your current line of work and how you got started in it.

After working as a bank consultant travelling the world I retired in Australia and like many had a great time socializing with other retirees at different functions. In one said function during a conversation someone suggested I join a writer's group. I never done any creative writing (well since school days anyway) so I gave it a go, and then little did I think that I enjoyed it. It turned out many of the stories were funny and people enjoyed them, so one thing led to another, and the rest, like the saying goes, is history.

Do you have any mentors or sources of inspiration?

As many other authors/writers I have several folks I really enjoy reading. Mostly male authors like Ernest Hemingway, Clive Cussler, Myron Ferfig to mention a few and they of course give me some inspiration but mostly I like speaking with people, complete strangers at times, and getting their reactions. Another pastime, if I may call it that, is watching people in the shopping centres around Australia. their interactions between themselves and others and many, many times I get ideas for short stories.

What parts of your work do you enjoy most? Why?

I enjoy exploring different genres in my writing. I dabble in a bit of mystery (though it's more of a light touch), romance (I must admit, I'm a bit of a softy), and humor.

As we journey through life, we are influenced by everything around us, often without realizing it. Humor, sadness, and love all seep into our experiences and naturally find their way into my stories and poems. These emotions blend together, adding depth and richness to my work.

What are your favorite things to do when you have free time?

My best influence for ideas and inspiration is when my wife and I do our walks. we speak of our continuing hopes, aspirations, family, friends and of course current world matters and we come up with story lines in some cases and in others we just enjoy our time walking around.

Can you tell us about your latest book and any upcoming projects?

Actually, I am excited to announce that my latest book, Stories to Share with My Partner - Book 5, has been published and is now available. Additionally, a collection of stories and poetry from 13 talented authors has just been released with the title Quick Story Tales Vol. 1 and a second one will be out in October/November 2024. This one will have over 20 authors.

I'm also thrilled to share that on the fifteenth of July, my sequel to Books, Pens, and Larceny, titled Mending Hearts at Crystal Cove, will be available as well.
