Welcome, Paul. Please tell us about your current line of work and how you got started in it. Tell us about any upcoming projects, also.
I'm an author and actor, and I've always loved creating characters and stories. My journey began with community theater, which sparked my interest in storytelling. Over the years, I've been drawn to acting and writing, focusing on novels that mix adventure with historical and fantastical elements, like the Jedidiah Davenport Steampunk Adventure Series. I'm also working on two new series set in the 1930s and 1940s, leaning into mystery and detective themes.
Do you have any mentors or sources of inspiration?
I find inspiration in a mix of classic and modern influences. Authors like Agatha Christie, Mildred Wirt Benson, and Horatio Alger Jr., along with actors like Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, and Lucille Ball, have deeply influenced my storytelling and acting.
What parts of your work do you enjoy most? Why?
I love the freedom to create intricate worlds and characters that connect with people. Whether I'm writing or acting, bringing laughter and wonder to audiences is incredibly rewarding. I especially enjoy creating stories and hearing what readers loved most about them.
What are your favorite things to do when you have free time?
When I'm not writing or acting, I enjoy immersing myself in pop culture like Star Wars and Star Trek, going to steampunk conventions, and hiking. These hobbies not only refresh me but also spark ideas for my stories.
Are there any dream projects you'd like to pursue?
I'd love to see my books turned into movies or TV series, with each book in a series as a season. That would be a dream come true.
